  • Category: NursingThe State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) provides essential care and support to residents in a healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living facility. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the STNA assists residents with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is vital in promoting resident safety, dignity, and quality of life through compassionate and attentive care.

  • Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene. Help residents with mobility, including turning, positioning, transferring, and ambulating using assistive devices as needed. Feed residents or assist with meals, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and monitor food and fluid intake. Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions to the nursing staff.

  • Monitoring: Measure and record residents' vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, as directed by nursing staff. Assist with monitoring residents’ skin conditions, reporting any signs of skin breakdown or pressure sores. Assist with weight checks, intake and output monitoring, and other health-related measurements.

  • Accurately document care provided and residents' responses to care in the facility’s electronic health record (EHR) or paper charts. Maintain records of residents' food and fluid intake, toileting habits, and other observations as required. Report any concerns or incidents to the supervising nurse and complete required documentation.

Practice proper hand hygiene, use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and follow all safety procedures.

Certification

Current and active State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.

Experience

Previous experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current and active State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. While previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, new graduates are welcome to apply.
