• Shift: DayEMPLOYER INFORMATION Clifford Beers is a mental health clinic serving children and families. Our mission is to provide integrated services addressing mental, physical, and social determinants in order to improve health, resiliency and quality of life for children, families and communities. PURPOSE The Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist – Bilingual provides evidence-based, home-based family therapy services utilizing the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model. This position serves youth ages 10–18 and their families and requires the ability to provide clinical services in both English and Spanish to ensure equitable access to care for families with limited English proficiency. The therapist will provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour home-based family therapy sessions and maintain a caseload of approximately 10–15 families receiving services over an eight- to twenty-six-week period. This position requires flexibility to meet families during evenings and other times that accommodate their schedules. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver evidence-based Functional Family Therapy (FFT) services in accordance with model fidelity. Provide individual, family, and caregiver interventions in both English and Spanish, as appropriate to meet the linguistic needs of the family. Conduct home, community, and occasional office-based visits. Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, evaluate family dynamics, assess safety and risk, and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide crisis intervention and develop safety and coping plans with families. Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record and required reporting systems. Collaborate with internal and external partners including schools, DCF, juvenile justice agencies, medical providers, and other community organizations. Participate in FFT consultation, supervision, and ongoing fidelity monitoring. Translate clinical concepts and psychoeducation in a culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate manner while maintaining therapeutic integrity. Promote family engagement using a strengths-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach. Respond positively and respectfully to diversity among clients, families, community partners, and staff. Perform other duties as assigned by agency leadership. • QualificationsEDUCATION
• AND
• EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field. Active Connecticut licensure or license eligibility (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPCA, LMFT, LMFTA, or equivalent). Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required. Ability to conduct clinical assessments, therapy sessions, safety planning, and documentation in both English and Spanish. Experience providing home-based behavioral health services. Experience working with adolescents and families. Experience working within child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health, or community mental health settings. Experience utilizing evidence-based practices. Skills Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide developmentally appropriate behavioral health services, including: Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish. Ability to effectively engage and build rapport with diverse families across cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Ability and willingness to provide services in clients' homes and community settings. Flexibility to work evenings as needed to accommodate family schedules. Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team. Ability to internalize and maintain fidelity to the FFT model. Ability to engage families who may initially be resistant to treatment. Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Commitment to family-centered, strengths-based, culturally responsive care. Ability to establish respectful therapeutic relationships that empower families. Ability to establish professional boundaries and exercise sound clinical judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and agency policies. REQUIREMENTS Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Reliable transportation. Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
