About the role

The GI Registered Nurse provides perioperative care for patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures within a surgical team. They are responsible for managing the operating room environment, ensuring aseptic standards, and collaborating with physicians and anesthesia staff throughout the patient's stay.

The GI Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential member of the surgical team, focusing on the perioperative care of patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures. This role requires expertise in managing the operating room environment, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques, and providing comprehensive care that prioritizes patient safety and comfort. The GI RN collaborates with physicians, anesthesia personnel, and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective and efficient care, from the moment of admission through to discharge. This role demands strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

  • Registered Nurse for Three (3) plus years required
  • Gastrointestinal procedure two (2) plus years' is desirable.
  • Licensure/Certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in Florida
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required based on ASC patient minimum age.

Experience

Two (2) plus years of experience Multi-Specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center or Outpatient facility, preferred.

Building strong relationships with Physicians.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Florida Registered Nurse license and have at least three years of nursing experience, with two years in gastrointestinal procedures preferred. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS, along with strong clinical and communication skills.
