The Opportunity APEX Cardiovascular Group, part of US Heart and Vascular, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular practice in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a ground-floor opportunity for a physician who wants to help develop a new cardiology service line while practicing alongside an established vascular surgery team with a strong regional presence. The incoming physician will step into a market with an existing patient base, active referral relationships, a dedicated physician referral specialist, and ongoing community outreach designed to support early practice growth. The position offers the resources of a growing national cardiovascular organization while preserving local clinical decision-making and physician autonomy. A New Knoxville Practice Environment The cardiology program will be based in Knoxville in a newly renovated central office designed to support coordinated cardiovascular care.

  • Responsibilities are expected to include: General cardiovascular consultations, evaluation, and longitudinal patient management Outpatient diagnostic testing and interpretation within the physician’s scope and credentials Cardiac risk assessment and preoperative clearance for patients within the existing surgical referral pipeline Collaboration with vascular surgeons, advanced practice providers, imaging staff, and clinical teams Development of strong relationships with primary care physicians and other referring providers throughout Knoxville and East Tennessee Participation in the continued development of the practice’s cardiology services, quality standards, and patient access strategy Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship Eligible for an unrestricted Tennessee medical license and applicable hospital or facility privileges Commitment to collaborative, high-quality, patient-centered care Interest in helping build and grow a new cardiology service line Why Knoxville?
