The Mobility Technician plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate patient mobility throughout the hospital. This individual functions as an extension of the rehabilitation and nursing teams—supporting patient transfers, repositioning, and ambulation to promote early mobility and functional recovery. Drawing from principles of physical therapy, ergonomics, and safe patient handling, the Mobility Technician helps optimize patient outcomes by encouraging activity, preserving strength, and reducing the risk of complications associated with immobility. The Mobility Technician will educate and coach staff on the proper use of mobility equipment and safe movement techniques.

Candidates must have prior experience in patient care, rehabilitation, or therapy support and possess a solid understanding of body mechanics. A BLS certification is required, and a background as a Physical Therapy Aide, Rehab Tech, EMT, or Nursing Assistant is preferred.
