Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospital (Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital), we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides primary care for family medicine and internal medicine, otolaryngology (ENT), hematology/oncology, cardiology, general surgery, urgent care, and women's health.

One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Radiologic Technologist (Limited Rad Tech/Medical Assistant), you will help Radiologists diagnose and manage patient conditions so they can provide accurate and timely patient care.

Every day you will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging examinations.

You will be expected to operate X-ray, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scan, and MRI equipment, position patients accurately, and ensure precise image capture while maintaining a positive patient experience.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a deep understanding of diagnostic imaging principles, including workflow, patient positioning, and the ability to capture results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Essential Functions for Radiologic Technologist: Position patients and adjust equipment for X-rays according to established procedures.

Instruct patients regarding procedures.

Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiology equipment.

Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment based on the individual patient.

Develop and process radiology film and examine film for properties such as definition, magnification, and distortion.

Essential Functions for Medical Assistant (supporting Radiologic Technologist role): Accurately and timely schedules acceptable appointments/procedures per patient expectations and department guidelines.

Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical and radiological supplies.

Route, manage, prioritize, and complete tasks hourly or as outlined by specific expectations.

Accurately document, calculate, and safely administer all medications after obtaining a physician's written order.

Accurately submit RX requests to pharmacies within 30 minutes after obtaining a physician's written order.

Accurately obtain, interpret, and document all patient vital signs.

Proactively ensure medications are current and all expired medications are quickly and properly disposed of.

Maintain narcotics logs and ensure all quality control measures consistently comply.

Additional Essential Functions (applicable to both roles): Utilize and maintain equipment properly to minimize repair and service calls, maximize equipment longevity, and increase cost-effectiveness.

Order only necessary items, maintain PAR levels, and share supplies to eliminate unnecessary spending.

Promptly refer patients to the billing office for extensive billing questions.

Document insurance cards, referrals, authorizations, and other billing data.

Verbalize fire and disaster plans.

Meet all OSHA standards.

Know how to utilize the incident reporting system and compliance hotline.

Adhere to all patient confidentiality requirements.

Apply safe work practices and precautions for chain of infection control.

Job Requirements Required High School Graduate General Studies, or High School GED General Studies, and Graduate of approved school of radiologic technology required, and six months Medical Assistant and medical back office experience, and Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health MedicalFoundation H.R. department inconjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.) Limited Radiologic Technologist: CA, and Basic Life Support - CPR.

Preferred Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire.

Requirements

Candidates must be a high school graduate and a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology with at least six months of medical assistant experience. Required certifications include a Limited Radiologic Technologist license for California and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
