About the role

The Nurse Practitioner will work in an outpatient hematology and oncology clinic, performing independent billing, follow-up visits, and hospital discharges. They will also have the opportunity to perform clinical procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.

Join a highly skilled, dynamic group of APPs in the outpatient clinic in our Hematology, Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies department at the Parnassus campus of UCSF Health. Our acclaimed program draws patients from around the world seeking effective and innovative therapies to treat their underlying blood disorders or blood cancers. Our patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, or cellular therapies for the treatment of hematologic malignancies.

In this position, the APP would work in the outpatient clinic 4 days a week for 10 hours a shift. They will primarily act as an independent billing provider, seeing follow-up visits and hospital discharges. There may be opportunities to incorporate new patient referrals and survivorship visits into your day. The APP will have the opportunity to learn and perform various procedures, including bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a California RN and NP license, a master's or doctoral degree, and national board certification. At least two years of NP experience in outpatient hematology-oncology is required.
