About the role

The therapist will conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions while developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients in crisis. They will also coordinate care with outside providers and support systems to ensure continuity and effective treatment transitions.

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer.

Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role As a Primary Therapist, you’ll work thoughtfully with our patients to develop and implement their individualized treatment plans.

This role will consist of conducting individual therapy meetings, collaborating with patients’ outpatient teams, and leading patients through their overall treatment program.

You’ll partner closely with the entirety of our treatment teams, including Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Prescribers to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.

Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.

What You'll Do: Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program Provide group and individual therapy Provide family therapy as needed Communicate with patients’ family members or support system, on a weekly basis or as needed Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care Communicate with patients’ home school and attend school re-entry meetings Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient based on need Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care, transition plan and/or discharge Chart progress of patients appropriately Complete administrative documentation (initial treatment plans/updates, discharges, attendance, research) Provide insurance utilization team with updates Who You Are: Are a Psychologist or Master’s level therapist (required) Hold one of the following licenses: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, or LCPC (preferred) 2+ years clinical work experience post-Master’s (strongly preferred) Have knowledge and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other evidenced-based therapies Have experience with patients in crisis, ideally prior experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting We are committed to a fair and equitable work environment.

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's level degree or higher in a psychology-related field and possess a valid license such as PhD, PsyD, LCSW, or LCPC. At least two years of post-Master's clinical experience and proficiency in evidence-based therapies like CBT and DBT are strongly preferred.
