About the role

The Direct Care Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment while attending to the basic needs of clients. They provide informal counseling and support using behavioral techniques and socialization skills within a detox center setting.

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Technicians, for Full-Time, Night Shift to join our team at our Facility Based Clinic in Jacksonville, NC.

Your Role in Our Mission

As a Direct Care Technician, on the team you will be responsible for providing and maintaining a therapeutic and safe group environment and attending to the welfare and basic needs of clients. You will provide informal counseling in the detox center that involve behavioral techniques, reality therapy, supportive encouragement and socialization skills for the clients.

We have the following shifts open

Schedule • Full time

  • Night shift: 7pm to 7am; (Week 1 Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) (Week 2 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday)
  • Full time: Night shift 7pm to 7am (Week 1 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) (Week 2 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday)

We also offer a full benefits package for benefits-eligible positions.

Compensation & Benefits • Competitive Salary

  • $15/hr. for these full-time positions

  • Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but is not required
  • Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and maintain a valid driver's license with auto insurance. While entry-level training is provided, certifications such as Peer Support or CNA are considered a plus.
