About the role

The laboratory technician is responsible for processing and preparing specimens for reference laboratories while identifying and resolving specimen issues. They must also maintain safety, compliance, and quality control standards within a fast-paced laboratory environment.

  • In this role, you will: Perform a vital part in processing and preparing specimens to be sent out to different reference laboratories Identifies specimen issues and in some cases, may resolve issues with specimen types Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
  • All you need is: At minimum an associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms
  • Bonus points if you’ve got: 2+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing within area of specialty
