Monitor patients, manage their tubing, maintain arterial catheters, and stay aware of potential drug complications, throughout the clinic visit.
Education & Experience Must be licensed as RN for one (1) year.
Two (2) years of RN experience in specified area preferred.
BSN preferred.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Valid RN license.

Experience and familiarity with infusion therapy preferred.

Assessment of the patient before, during and after the start of the intravenous medication. Determines appropriate venipuncture site and performs venous punctures and maintains the intravascular site including tubing and dressings. Monitors for infections, assess and treats patients for adverse reactions and complications, initiate emergency therapies. Initiates, monitors, and terminates therapies including medications, antineoplastic agents, investigational drugs, and blood products. Provides and oversees direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocols, including vital signs up to every 15 minutes, and physician's orders. Provides education to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and post discharge instructions. Documents all patient-directed activities.
