The Nurse Practitioner provides urgent psychiatric care and ongoing ambulatory treatment within a multidisciplinary team at the Community Behavioral Health Center. Responsibilities include conducting crisis and diagnostic evaluations, managing psychopharmacological treatment, and providing patient and family education.
In this position, the Nurse Practitioner will work within the Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) to provide care for patients experiencing urgent psychiatric needs as well as maintaining a panel of patients receiving ongoing ambulatory care through the CBHC’s multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities will include providing crisis evaluations, diagnostic and psychopharmacology evaluations, and psychopharmalogical treatment. As an expert professional, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in nursing and a current Massachusetts license as a registered nurse with expanded role authorization. The role requires at least three years of clinical nursing experience, including two years in adult practice, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
