As an Anesthesia Technician, you will support the Anesthesiologist and other healthcare staff by ensuring patient rooms are stocked with equipment required for procedures.

You will work within different types of ORs and outpatient areas, offering an opportunity to see new and exciting environments every day.

This position is an excellent steppingstone to others in the department and beyond.

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 6:30AM – 3:00PM, including both weekdays and weekends.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: Stock the carts and surgical suites with the required supplies as outlined on the anesthesia surgical suite stock par list.

Assist with difficult airway management by assisting with equipment needs from the providers.

Assist with lines and specialty room set-ups.

Disassemble, decontaminate and sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Report equipment problems to the management team.

Perform Point of Care (POCT) testing procedures, after an initial approved competency has been completed.

Effectively communicate with anesthesia and operating room staff to assure daily operating room assignments are prioritized at the start of each shift.

Efficiently transport all anesthesia related equipment and supplies to and from outside of Operating Rooms off-site locations.

Maintain complete and accurate records and check the status of orders and equipment.

Maintain an adequate supply of all stock items in work room and keep the work room clean and in an orderly condition.

Maintain anesthesia supplies by establishing inventory levels, requisitioning supplies and restocking supplies.

Maintain equipment by preparing, testing and setting up a variety of anesthetic equipment for surgical use, troubleshoot equipment for problems or repairs and perform preventative maintenance and routine cleaning.

Participate in turning over rooms assuring minimal downtime between cases.

Retrieve and appropriately distribute the equipment necessary to prepare a patient for anesthesia.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED One year of experience working in a healthcare setting OR successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or similar healthcare-related training program OR Bachelor’s Degree in Science Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel or PowerPoint Direct patient care and/or surgical/OR environment experience Physical Requirements: Extended periods walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (usually not over 20 lbs.).

Capable of pushing and maneuvering equipment weighing up to 150 pounds.

May be exposed to bodily fluids.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
