The Laundry Aide is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, and folding resident linens and clothing while maintaining a sanitary environment. They must also ensure an adequate supply of clean linens and report any equipment malfunctions to management.
Ensure an adequate supply of clean linens is available for resident care and comfort. Inspect linens and remove damaged or stained items from service. Collect residents' laundry daily or as needed. Label new residents' clothing as needed. Sort, treat, wash, dry, fold, and organize clothing and linens. Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms promptly and accurately. Follow all infection control, sanitation, and laundry procedures. Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing. Operate laundry equipment safely and according to facility procedures. Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Administrator. Assist with general housekeeping and cleaning duties as assigned to help maintain a clean, sanitary, and odor-free environment.
Previous laundry or housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull laundry carts and supplies. Reliable attendance and a positive, resident-focused attitude.
