Sunday through

Thursday 10:00 PM–6:30 AM with holidays on-call and callback per unit needs.

Work setting: hospital travel assignment coordinating imaging services in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI equipment (GE scanner) safely and efficiently, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety
  • Prepare patients for scans, explain the procedure, and help them feel comfortable throughout the exam
  • Insert IVs when necessary for contrast administration and monitor patient response during scanning
  • Coordinate with physicians to provide timely diagnostic imaging and ensure timely delivery of results
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe scanning facility; adhere to infection control and radiation safety protocols
  • Document all procedures accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality and proper recordkeeping

Requirements

  • Education: Associate degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Radiology
  • Certification: ARRT certification required
  • Experience: Two years MRI experience required
  • Licenses: New York State Radiologic Technologist license; must be willing to obtain this license after starting
  • Credentials: BLS (American Heart Association) required
  • Skills: Must have GE MRI scanner experience to be considered; injection certification required
  • Other: Strong patient-care skills, ability to stand for extended periods, and ability to work in a high-volume hospital setting
