About the role

The social worker will conduct psychosocial assessments, provide crisis intervention, and facilitate short-term psychotherapy for transplant patients and their families. They will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment and transition plans.

Join our dynamic and collaborative transplant social work team at Mayo Clinic in Florida. In this position you will complete psychosocial assessments, reassess individual transplant plans with patients and families, and provide counseling and education during the inpatient transplant/donation episode of care. You will coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team in this fast paced supportive role to ensure high quality outcomes for our patients.

Mayo Clinic Florida is seeking a compassionate and skilled social work professional to join our team in a crisis response position.

The successful candidate will have a passion for assessing and planning with patients experiencing a mental health or safety crisis.

Demonstrated experience in crisis assessment, intervention, risk evaluation, and the development of effective safety plans is highly desired.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage patients and families during challenging situations.

The ideal candidate will be committed to providing patient-centered care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting positive outcomes for individuals in need of behavioral health intervention and support.

This outpatient social work position is a member of highly skilled, professional, and supportive social work team.

Responsibilities

include:

Conducting diagnostic assessment, determining clinical interventions, facilitating crisis intervention and short-term psychotherapy, and provides education for patients and their families.

Communicating effectively verbally and in writing while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external support systems.

Participating in the development and implementation of the treatment/transition plan.

Functioning as an interdisciplinary team member.

Functioning within the research, practice, and education shields at Mayo Clinic.

Complying with required standards for medical/legal responsibilities and serves as a resource to other allied and administrative staff within the section of Social Work and the Department of Nursing.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and possess at least two years of supervised therapy experience in behavioral health or medical social work. A Florida LCSW/LICSW license is required to practice independently at the clinical level.
