Graduate nurses will participate in a residency program that transitions them from students to professional nurses through evidence-based training and education. They will provide patient care across various clinical units while developing critical thinking, assessment, and organizational skills.

Things You Should Know Our residency programs have a few requirements that must be met prior to starting: Must have a Nursing Degree (ADN, BSN, MSN). An Idaho RN license (some units require secondary licensure in the state of Oregon). Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire. An active and unexpired Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network. Additional certification may be required depending on the unit.

Recommendations

Make sure your resume is up to date and thorough in describing any applicable experience and education - particularly your clinical rotations! Please include all non-medical jobs too! Anything that highlights customer service, multi-tasking, critical thinking, independent judgement, leadership, etc - all these things apply to nursing!
