What You’ll Do Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vital signs, and patient assessments. Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures. Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from patient intake through discharge. Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed. Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection. Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs. Run in-house laboratory testing and accurately process patient samples. Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care. Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, pain levels, and patient status during procedures and recovery. Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care. Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation. Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates to promote efficiency and collaboration. Maintain clean, stocked, and organized treatment and examination areas. Participate in ongoing training and professional-development opportunities.
