Laundry Aide Part-Time

Qualifications

Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. One year of laundry, housekeeping, janitorial, or healthcare facility experience preferred. Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is a plus. Skills and Abilities Ability to read and understand instructions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures. Basic math skills. Ability to organize and prioritize assigned duties. Ability to identify problems and seek assistance when needed. Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations No certifications or licenses are required for this position. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, talk, read, and hear while performing the duties of this position. The employee must be able to: Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Push and pull laundry carts. Handle bags of clothing, bedding, and linens. Frequently use industrial washers, dryers, and related laundry equipment. Work around heat, moisture, cleaning products, and soiled linens. Work Environment The employee works in a healthcare and laundry environment with a generally low to moderate noise level. The position may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, heat, moisture, bodily fluids, and infectious materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment and infection control procedures must be followed.
