The Surgical Technologist assists surgeons and nurses during minor and major procedures by maintaining sterile fields and managing instrumentation. They are responsible for ensuring patient safety, managing surgical supplies, and adhering to hospital infection control and safety protocols.
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Perioperative Services, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for filling the surgical scrub role on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competencies in each surgical specialty. Assists physicians and nurses in various medical and technical procedures. These functions must be in compliance with the philosophy of the hospital, standards of practice and regulations of governing agencies.

The employee must be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.

Salary Range: $54,3000-$71,500/annual
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a professional certification as a Surgical Technologist. Current BCLS certification is required, and two years of previous operating room experience is preferred.
