*ESSENTIAL DSP/Direct Support JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
As a Direct Support Professional, you support the individuals receiving services from SIRS to...

Achieve as much independence as possible.
Feel supported in daily living to create a safe & healthy life.
Make each day the BEST day.
Depending on position, this could include assisting individuals with activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring while encouraging the individual to perform as much self-care as possible. Understanding and utilizing adaptive equipment including wheelchairs and belts/locks, Hoyer lifts, etc. and be able to securely load and unload clients’. (Note: Not applicable to all positions.)
Driving individuals to daily appointments, work, day programs, recreation events, and stores as needed.
Completing medication records and counts.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for individual(s). Performing general housekeeping and teaching/supporting individual(s) to perform housekeeping.
Completes all trainings including new hire, on the job and annual trainings within the designated timeframe.
Understands and follows proper physical safety and emergency protocols.
Completes all documentation accurately and timely.
