Trauma-Informed Care means treating the person as a whole, taking into account past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors.

Our goal is to provide effective treatment as well as improving the quality and impact of care.

Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.

Position Summary

Provides supportive services throughout the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs at Texoma Community Center (TCC).

Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.

Supports program staff with ad hoc administrative reporting and creative tasks.

Answers phones, greets clients, and helps direct and connect individuals with the correct services or provider.

Reviews and responds to e-mails and calls including information requests, referrals, etc. while maintaining confidentiality and cybersecurity requirements.

Maintains annual reporting logs required by Contractors.

Monitors and secures program supplies.

Serves on committees as applicable and is representative for facility in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of TCC.

Assist consumers with linking to appropriate internal and external services and navigating systems essential to recovery and growth.

Operating motor vehicles used to transport passengers, cargo, mail and performing vehicle maintenance.

Other duties as assigned.

This position may require availability for working evening hours and limited hours on some Saturdays based on program schedule.

Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Texoma Community Center.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, associates degree or some college hours preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or substance use issues desirable.
  • Experience working with adolescents is desirable.
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record meeting TCC insurance requirements.

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations

  • Current and valid driver’s license.
  • Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented.
  • Must have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Must be flexible with schedule.
  • Ability to work effectively and appropriately with adolescent population.
  • Ability to operate in a team environment and take instruction from supervisors.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and accurate documentation of support and transportation services provided.
  • Willingness to complete all state required SUD training and strictly adhere to federal regulations regarding client confidentiality (42 CFR Part 2).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.
  • The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to generate, read, interpret, and take action as it relates to basic financial statements, national and state regulations, operational and maintenance and organizational policy / procedures.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to become an appropriate team player in two departments.
  • Ability to work with skill in identifying problems.
  • Ability to report to dual supervisors when performing specific job duties.
  • No driver may consume or use any substance regardless of legality or prescription status that may impair or diminish their ability to carry out work related duties.
