Position Summary

Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients receiving treatments and examination, according to established procedures. Performs routine diagnostic radiological procedures and support activities.

Responsibilities

Performs radiographic examinations as licensed by certification. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports and other such reports. Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service or clinical supervisor for major malfunctions. Directs patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms. Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment. Accurately records history and performs basic triage procedures per policy. Retrieves initial basic condition of patients and reports to appropriate practitioner. Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy. Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well maintained equipment. Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur. Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurately to patients. Take calls from hospitals/ nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely manner. Assures test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner. Completes medical orientation checklist.. Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience in medical office setting Licensure Requirement: Certification by an approved school and current ARRT. Must complete and pass state testing requirements for full x-ray licensure. Must be currently licensed in the state of Tennessee as an “X-ray operator in an MD office” (MXRT). CPR required. Must hold CCMA or equivalent MA certification.

Requirements

Requires one year of experience in a medical office setting and current ARRT certification. Must hold a Tennessee license as an X-ray operator in an MD office and possess current CPR certification.
