Primary Responsibilities The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.

Executes basic clinical competence in Sonography in all locations across all patient types.
Selects accurate equipment and technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.
Applies knowledge of Sonography principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, physics, positioning and patient care skills.
Appropriately performs high level disinfecting procedures to meet organizational infection prevention standards.
Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment.
Maintains supplies and inventory in area.
Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors.
Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality.
Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience - Required · Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound Educational Program · No experience necessary RDMS Certification · Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification Education & Experience - Preferred · Experience: 1+ years
Requires graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Educational Program and RDMS certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is also mandatory, while one year of experience is preferred.
