Summary Under general supervision, provides general direct nursing care to injured, ill, convalescent or disabled individuals. Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections.
Responsible for performing assessments on the individuals daily and as needed related to changes in behavior/symptoms and notifying appropriate staff of changes in behavior/symptoms. Responsible for completing required documentation for services rendered by utilizing the recognizable and acceptable documentation formats for nursing assessments, ensuring that documentation reflects the individual's treatment goals and objectives. Responsible for ensuring that all medication errors are well documented and passed on the Lead Nurse. Responsible for relaying needed information to psychiatric staff, reporting sudden/new changes in individual's behavior to appropriate staff; communicate pertinent information to the RN for continuity of care. Responsible for collecting blood and other laboratory specimens and waived testing, ensuring that lab logs are maintained and that lab draws/waived testing/results are documented correctly in the EHR. Other assigned duties as directed and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Vocational / Technical degree from an accredited college AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND six months of nursing experience.
Some positions require a valid Georgia's Driver's License. Physical Demands may include Ability to lift and carry up to 25/50 lbs. Sitting, standing and/or walking, pushing/pulling, handling, reaching, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing (ladders or stairs), overhead reaching.
Candidates must hold a vocational or technical degree from an accredited college and a current Georgia license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. A minimum of six months of nursing experience is required for this position.
