Peer Support Specialist (PSS) – ACTT 📍 Mars Hill, NC 💰 $18.00–$22.00 per hour (based on education and experience) 🕒 Full-Time | Monday–Friday Use Your Recovery Journey to Help Others Find Theirs Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialist (PSS) to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Mars Hill, NC.
As a Peer Support Specialist, you'll use your own lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to inspire hope, build meaningful relationships, and empower individuals living with serious mental illness to achieve their recovery goals.
ACTT is a community-based, "hospital without walls" program that delivers comprehensive behavioral health services directly where clients live, work, and thrive.

North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification (required) High School Diploma or GED (required) Personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery (required) Valid North Carolina driver's license with reliable transportation (required) Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary treatment team Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills What You'll Do Peer Support & Recovery Coaching Build trusting, supportive relationships through shared lived experience. Encourage hope, resilience, and personal growth while supporting clients in achieving recovery goals. Facilitate recovery-focused, educational, and social groups. Assist clients with developing independent living skills and community integration. Provide or coordinate transportation to appointments, services, and community resources as needed. Team Collaboration Participate in daily ACTT team meetings and contribute valuable peer perspectives. Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, case managers, and other team members to develop individualized treatment and recovery plans. Communicate effectively with referral sources, family members, and community providers to support continuity of care. Documentation & Compliance Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record. Maintain client records, releases of information, treatment documentation, and discharge planning. Assist with documenting daily team meetings and other required program records. Crisis Response & Community Support Provide support during behavioral health crises and assist with crisis planning. Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities for after-hours support, when applicable. Help clients navigate community resources that promote long-term recovery, stability, employment, housing, and wellness. Why Join Pyramid Healthcare?
