Within Franciscan Health, the Surgical Technologist III performs various tasks supporting perioperative services within the Franciscan team. This position assists multiple disciplines within the operating room by preparing patients and equipment for procedures, and maintaining environmental standards. This position, also, provides technical assistance to surgeons by anticipating procedures and equipment. The Surgical Technologist measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and other solutions.

Types of surgeries include, General, Bariatric, Podiatry, GYN, GYN Oncology, Urology-GYN, Urology-Oncology, Colorectal, Vascular, Breast, Plastic, Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Ortho joints, Brain, Spine, Pediatric dental, Ophthalmology, Robotics
Call, and holiday rotation
Prepare for surgical procedures by obtaining appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment and appropriate records for specific surgical procedures.
Open surgical supplies/equipment, clean and prepare instruments for sterilization process, and restock pre-operative carts.
Arrange instrument trays, prepare sterile drapes and solutions, and help the surgical team put on caps, gowns, and gloves.
Assist in the cleanup of surgical environment after a procedure, ensuring the operating room is cleaned and set up for turnover to the next procedure.
Remove equipment from surgery room, and follows proper procedure to dispose of contaminated equipment and supplies.
Assist with prep of patients, as needed.
· High School Diploma/GED Required: · 1 year Surgery required
· Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
· NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required
Travel is required: Never or Rarely

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of surgery experience. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential are required.
