About the role

The pharmacy technician assists licensed pharmacists with dispensing functions, including inventory control and sterile product preparation. They also maintain pharmaceutical equipment and provide support for neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Up to $3,000 Sign-on Bonus Based on Eligibility The individual in this position acts under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and provides assistance in dispensing functions, including: purchasing, inventory control of all drug classes, sterile product preparation and associated equipment maintenance, and automated dispensing cabinet equipment and inventory maintenance. Also performs technical duties to maintain pharmaceutical dispensing functions to all neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including inpatients and outpatients.

Responsibilities

Accurately fill and label medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner. Accurately stock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) in a timely manner; maintain ADC cleanliness; destock expired meds from ADC. Check medication rooms and patient bins for discontinued or expired meds and return them to pharmacy. Re-package and label oral medications/extemporaneous preparations and maintain appropriate records. Stock medications into pharmacy inventory, including sterile compounding areas. Assist in performing various duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Education: High school graduate or equivalent Certifications: Registered Pharmacy Technician license/certification, as required by state law.

Preferred

Experience: Hospital pharmacy experience Accredited training in sterile products preparation and IV Admixture Certification.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a registered pharmacy technician license as required by state law. Hospital pharmacy experience and accredited training in sterile products preparation are preferred.
