About the role

The Nurse Tech performs direct patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and provides continuous cardiac monitoring from the telemetry room. They are responsible for non-invasive procedures and documenting patient competencies.

  • Nurse Tech – RN New Grad: Performs direct patient care tasks under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs various tasks as competency documentation designates.
  • Position provides direct patient care limited to non-invasive procedures, unless competencies are completed in phlebotomy.
  • Position provides continuous cardiac monitoring of patients from the telemetry room.

Qualifications

Education/Qualification High School diploma or equivalency Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant Course, 2 years of a 4 year nursing school to include 1 semester of Medical Surgical Nursing and 1 semester of fundamentals, 1 year of a 2 year nursing program or comparable Military Training. At least six months of recent Hospital or long-term care experience, which provided knowledge of basic patient-care activities related to patient care technician duties Skills Fundamental computer skills and keyboard familiarity Passing Score on hospital Dysrhythmia Exam Able to speak and write English Fluently Demonstrated communication, organization and critical thinking skills Knowledge of medical terminology Pay Transparency - To encourage pay transparency, promote pay equity, and proactively address regulations, UHS and all our subsidiaries will comply with all applicable state or local laws or regulations which require employers to provide wage or salary range information to job applicants and employees.
