Position Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides supervision and support to individuals while promoting their health, safety, independence, and overall well-being.
In this role, you will assist with daily living activities, implement individualized service plans, advocate for individuals in the community, and maintain accurate documentation.
The DSP also supports community participation, communicates with care teams and families, and helps create a safe and supportive environment.
This position plays an important role in helping individuals achieve greater independence and quality of life.
This position is located in Staten Island, New York.
Key Responsibilities Provide support with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility assistance.
Promote independence and dignity while ensuring client safety and well-being.
Follow individualized service or care plans accurately.
Assist with medication reminders or administration as permitted.
Support community participation and social activities.
Document services provided and report any changes in behavior, health, or safety concerns.
Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and care teams.
High school diploma or GED required. Six months of related experience preferred. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification upon hire. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with coworkers, individuals supported, and their families. Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures. Valid New York State driver's license in good standing preferred, but not required. Pay Range USD $17.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
