About the role

Genesee Mobile Crisis Services (GMCS) seeking LBSW or LLBSW.

Current Openings 1) Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 1pm - 11pm, Sunday - Wednesday 2) Full-Time, 30 hours per week, 1pm - 11pm, Thursday - Saturday 3) Contingent, various shifts based on agency needs Base pay: Limited License: $25 - $27, Full License: $28 - $29, plus shift differential.

About You Provide immediate in-person support to individuals experiencing mental health crises and emotional distress.

Assist people/families resources and services, de-escalate crisis situations, and provide appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.

Job Description

Day In The Life Assess crisis situation and person/family’s needs Provide active crisis intervention that is welcoming, trauma-informed, brief, and solution-focused to adults/children presenting with emergent or urgent need Provide referrals, arrange for psychiatric evaluations, facilitate authorization for hospitalization if unable to successfully divert, and inter- and intra-agency services Facilitate transition to appropriate aftercare services and assist with implementation of individual recovery plans and coordination of natural supports Act as an advocate for the needs and rights of every person/family including with service providers and community agents What You Need To Apply Bachelor's degree in human service field Professional licensure in the State of Michigan (LLBSW or LBSW) Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Minimum of one (1) year experience working with people with mental health, substance use and/or developmental disabilities Experience working in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services Experience with broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, crisis assessment, and intervention techniques Preferred: Certification in/or willing to obtain a development plan with MCBAP for the following (within 30 days of hire): CADC - Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Meets criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) defined by the State of Michigan Meets criteria as a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) OR Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) defined by the State of Michigan What Makes Us Different? Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in a human service field and professional licensure in the State of Michigan (LBSW or LLBSW). Candidates must have at least one year of experience in crisis intervention or mental health services and a valid driver's license.
