About the role

The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant will provide chairside support, perform diagnostic x-rays, and execute restorative procedures such as placing fillings and sealants. They are responsible for maintaining infection control standards and adapting to the needs of the dentist during patient care.

GPHA is one of the largest Dental providers in Philadelphia and Tri-state area.

We are presently seeking EFDAs for Saturdays only.

Locations include

  • 432 N 6th St, Philadelphia, PA 19123
  • 1401 S 31st St, Philadelphia, PA 19146
  • 4500-10 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19124
  • 640 E Snyder Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19148
  • 5501 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143

Qualified candidates must be proficient in

  • Chairside dentistry
  • Quality diagnostic digital x-rays
  • Impressions and model pouring
  • Infection control knowledge
  • The ability to adapt and understand the needs of the Dentist
  • Must be able to place fillings to restore teeth
  • Place sealants
  • Provide supragingival prophylaxis and fluoride treatments

Required Experiences and Skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and graduated from an accepted dental assisting school
  • One year of dental assisting experience, preferred
  • X-Ray Certification, required
  • EFDA License, required
  • CPR Certification, required
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Must possess the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and languages effectively to obtain necessary information.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid EFDA license, and X-Ray and CPR certifications. At least one year of dental assisting experience is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
