The Pharmacy Technician I supports the pharmacy department by processing medications and prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and efficient dispensing area to ensure smooth daily operations.

Position Overview Entry-level Pharmacy Technician position. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist:

Functions as a generalist, providing support and ensures an ongoing and efficient pharmacy department by assisting in the processing of medications or prescriptions to all patients and appropriate patient care areas.

Pharmacy Services, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24 Compensation Range: $17.19 - $24.42 per hour, depending on experience ----- Education/Experience Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or successful completion of a pharmacy technician training program.

License/Certification Minimum Required

  • Certification from the Pharmacy Technician
  • Board (PTCB) within eighteen (18) months of employment

Requirements

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those with previous pharmacy experience or training. Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB) is required within eighteen months of employment.
