Department Details

  • Join our lab team in providing exceptional patient care and gain valuable medical skills while playing a critical part in our patients’ diagnoses. Start your career with us and make a difference in our patients’ journey to recovery!
  • 8-hour shifts varying between day, evening, and night
  • Generalist position for all departments including core lab, microbiology, blood bank, and phlebotomy
  • Every 3rd weekend 6:00am-2:30pm in specimen processing
  • Eligible for Float premium pay!

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) $23.50 - 34.50 Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) $27.50 - 44.00

Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met.

Job Description

Collect laboratory specimens, as needed.

Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.

Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position.

Demonstrate critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem-solving.

Demonstrate personal commitment to the principles, values, and ethics of the organization to promote a positive work environment.

Seek personal learning opportunities.

Recognize safety hazards and comply with all safety practices and protocols.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an associate degree for MLT or a bachelor degree for MLS, along with relevant national certification or registry eligibility. Additionally, candidates working in North Dakota must be licensed by the state board.

MLS

Bachelors degree in laboratory or biological sciences required.

Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or be registry eligible.

Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable.

Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.

If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.

Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.

May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, valid driver’s license may be required.
