  • Summary: As an important member of the IBD research team, the Clinical Research Coordinator (Intermediate or Senior) supports the implementation and coordination of clinical research programs conducted by Dr. Mark Gerich and colleagues at the University of Colorado. This position will serve as the primary coordinator for the Qorus program and provide ongoing coordination and backup coverage for the IBD Biobank. The position independently manages participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, study follow-up, data collection, and research documentation while ensuring compliance with study protocols, institutional policies, FDA regulations, and ICH/GCP guidelines. The Clinical Research Coordinator (Intermediate or Senior) works closely with research participants, investigators, gastroenterology providers, clinic staff, procedural teams, laboratory personnel, and other research partners. The position is accountable for meeting program-specific goals and timelines, maintaining accurate data and specimen records, and providing professional and responsive communication to participants and members of the research team.

  • Responsibilities: Coordinate and independently manage the day-to-day operations of the Qorus program and assigned clinical research activities. Identify, recruit, screen, consent, and follow participants throughout the study lifecycle. Coordinate patient- and provider-reported surveys, medication-related follow-up, study assessments, and data collection. Support IBD Biobank enrollment, specimen collection, processing, storage, inventory management, and longitudinal collection activities. Maintain accurate and timely research data, regulatory documentation, participant tracking records, and specimen inventories. Serve as a liaison among participants, investigators, clinical teams, laboratory personnel, and research staff while maintaining professionalism and high-quality customer service. Ensure research activities comply with human-subject protections, study protocols, Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA, institutional policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. Contribute to workflow development, quality-improvement initiatives, recruitment goals, and the continued growth of the Qorus program and IBD Biobank.

Intermediate Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. Substitution(s): A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment. One (1) year clinical research or related experience. Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. Substitution(s): A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment. Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Intermediate Level: Bachelor’s degree in science or health-related field. Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems). Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs. Three (3) years of clinical research or related experience. Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in science or health-related field. Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems). Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs. Four (4) or more years of clinical research or related experience Condition(s) of Employment (All Levels): Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (All Levels): Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
