The Dental Assistant II prepares patients for dental encounters, performs diagnostic x-rays, and assists dentists during various clinical procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining sterile work environments, managing dental records, and providing patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Work Experience: Graduation from an accredited school in dental assisting or 12 months as a dental assistant. Experience with dental front desk preferred. Working knowledge of computer required. Previous experience with dental software preferred. In addition, Dental Assistant II meets the following criteria: Fully competent to perform x-rays, seat patients with vitals, four-handed dentistry, sterilization and procedure preparation. Education, Certification and Licensure: Graduation from high school or equivalent, preferred. Graduation from an accredited dental assistant program, and certification preferred. Must have current CPR / BLS certificate. Additional Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual preferred. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and listen. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in a healthcare clinic and office setting. ANHC is a tobacco-free campus.
