Job Summary and Responsibilities As an Endoscopy Tech, you will provide crucial technical support during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficiency.Every day you will meticulously prepare, maintain, and sterile process endoscopy equipment, assist physicians during procedures, and prepare rooms while maintaining accurate documentation.To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail in sterile processing, and collaborative skills in a fast-paced clinical setting, contributing to positive patient outcomes.

Maintains cleaning processes for scopes and the cleaning, disinfecting and storage areas on a daily basis.

Mechanical and automated cleaning and disinfecting of endoscopes and accessories according to manufacturer’s instructions and SGNA/ASGE Standards for Reprocessing of Flexible Gastrointestinal Endoscopes.

Documents the disinfectant solutions for efficacy in a logbook.

Demonstrates working knowledge of basic anatomy of a fiberoptic and videoscopes and the types of scopes and the how and why of when they are used.

Assists in preparing procedure areas.

Prepares and maintains endoscopy video cart, light source, supplies, endoscope, instillation pump and lab containers.

Requirements

Candidates must have completed a gastroenterology or endoscopy technician training program or possess one year of relevant healthcare experience. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and specific state-level certifications such as Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor or Surgical Technologist registration.
