About the role

The Intake Clinician conducts behavioral health assessments and gathers clinical information to assist physicians in determining the appropriate level of care for patients. They also facilitate the admission process by providing information to families and referral sources regarding treatment programs and insurance.

Responsibilities

  • INTAKE CLINICIAN FULL-TIME DAYS 12-HOUR SHIFTS Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility) Metropolitan Behavioral Health is a growing 144-bed behavioral health facility that provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24-hours a day.
  • Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population.
  • The facility provides a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

  • The Clinician may also schedule a clinical evaluation if appropriate for the client and contacts the physician who will make decision for the appropriate level of care: inpatient, day treatment or outpatient care.
  • He/she will facilitate this process by assisting the client, family and referral sources.
  • Clinician also provides information to clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance and admission procedures.

Qualifications

Education and License

MSW with Michigan LMSW (fully licensed) or Associates in Nursing or BSN with Michigan RN license At least 1 to 3 years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital.

Hours: This full-time day shift position that consists of three (3) 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Requirements

Candidates must hold an MSW with a Michigan LMSW license or an Associate/BSN degree with a Michigan RN license. A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital, is required.
