The Cytotechnologist will perform microscopic examinations of cellular samples to identify and classify abnormalities such as precancerous and cancerous cells. Short Description As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and prevention of various diseases by examining cellular samples under a microscope.

Your expertise in identifying abnormal cells and interpreting their significance will aid in providing accurate and timely diagnoses for our patients.

Perform microscopic examinations of cellular samples, including Pap smears, fine needle aspirations, body fluid specimens, and other specimens as required.

Identify and classify cellular abnormalities, such as precancerous and cancerous cells, infectious agents, and other pathological conditions.

Accurately document and interpret findings using established protocols and guidelines.

Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss abnormal findings and provide additional information for patient management.

Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and quality assurance.

Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Stay updated with the latest advances in cytology techniques and participate in continuing education to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Assist with quality control measures and participate in proficiency testing programs.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology and possess an active, unrestricted New Jersey Cytotechnologist License. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting and national certification such as CT (ASCP) are required.
