This position is under the supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis.

This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine.

Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, and patient care.

May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, or patient educator.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements.

Supports and adheres to the MO Cancer Associates Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

This position is full-time (7:30-4, Monday – Friday) and located at Missouri Cancer Associates, 1705 E Broadway, Columbia, MO.

Call Requirements include 1 night per week.

Missouri Cancer Associates is affiliated with Urology Associates of Central Missouri and the US Oncology Network!

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
  • May promote/provide staff education Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • AOCNP preferred.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and have at least 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner. Current state licensure and BLS/CPR certification are required.
