The Nurse Practitioner works under physician supervision to assess patient needs, conduct history and physical exams, and develop care plans. They also manage the therapeutic milieu, evaluate treatment responses, and participate in risk management and employee health processes.
Works collaboratively with and under the supervision of a physician to provide medical care to patients. Assess patient needs, will conduct all H&Ps and plan care processes, complete medical reviews for admissions and risk management, evaluates patient’s response to treatment, participates in HR involvement when needed with Employee Health, manages the therapeutic milieu and directs care.
This position will serve a patient population ages 5-100.
Registered nurse with active South Carolina license, MSN and are certified as Nurse Practitioner in South Carolina, and current South Carolina prescriptive authority.
Must possess a minimum of five (5) years experiences as a Registered Nurse, one (1) year experience as a Nurse Practioner.
Licensed as a registered nurse to practice in the State of South Carolina with certification as a nurse practitioner.
Use advance practice medical nursing skills to care for physically and/or mentally ill patients. Understand technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels. Use eyes, hands, and fingers with skill. Able to rapidly respond to emergency situations. Change from one duty to another frequently. Follow instructions exactly. Record information accurately and legibly.
Inside. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Noise level is light to moderate from patients.
Bending, lifting, walking, standing are routine. Exposure to physical and verbal aggression is possible when coming in contact with patients. May be exposed to hazardous wastes found in clinical and non-clinical areas. Eyestrain from extensive reading, writing and/or computer use may be experienced. Back strain may occur from long periods of sitting at desk
Must work well with other members of the department, with medical staff, nursing staff and administrative staff

Candidates must hold a current South Carolina Registered Nurse license, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Nurse Practitioner certification with prescriptive authority. A minimum of five years of experience as an RN and one year as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
