Rehab Technician
The Rehab Technician supports therapy staff by preparing treatment areas, transporting residents, and maintaining equipment. They also assist with non-clinical resident care activities and administrative tasks to ensure a safe and efficient rehabilitation environment.
The Rehab Technician provides support to Physical Therapists (PT), Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA), Occupational Therapists (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The Rehab Technician assists with treatment preparation, transportation, equipment maintenance, and resident care activities while promoting a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist therapy staff with preparation and cleanup of treatment areas and equipment.
Transport residents to and from therapy sessions in a safe and timely manner.
Set up therapy equipment and treatment spaces according to therapist instructions.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of rehabilitation areas.
Clean, disinfect, and inspect therapy equipment according to facility infection control policies.
Assist residents with non-clinical activities under the direction and supervision of licensed therapy personnel.
Maintain inventory of therapy supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
Support therapists with administrative tasks, scheduling, filing, copying, and data entry as assigned.
Assist with resident positioning, transfers, and mobility activities as directed and permitted by state regulations and facility policy.
Communicate resident concerns, changes in condition, or safety issues to appropriate staff.
Participate in facility meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
Comply with all federal, state, local, and facility policies regarding resident care, HIPAA, safety, and infection control.
