You’ll help ensure urgent cases are prioritized and results are available when our medical teams need them.
  • Your responsibilities will include: Performing hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, cytology, and microbiology testing. Preparing, processing, labeling, and storing samples. Preparing and staining cytology slides and providing interpretation support. Operating and maintaining equipment such as IDEXX and Abaxis analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges. Entering results accurately and promptly into electronic medical records. Monitoring quality control standards. Troubleshooting equipment and testing issues. Communicating with medical teams to prioritize urgent samples. Keeping the laboratory clean, organized, and well stocked. Helping train new team members when needed. What You Bring You have at least two years of experience in a veterinary or medical laboratory setting, including experience in a referral or specialty hospital. You’re comfortable working with common laboratory techniques, veterinary analyzers, and diagnostic equipment.
  • You’re someone who: Takes pride in producing accurate, dependable results. Notices the small details without losing sight of urgent priorities. Stays organized while managing multiple tests and requests. Communicates clearly and works well with others. Remains calm and focused when the hospital gets busy. Is willing to help, learn, and share knowledge with the team. Because VERG Brooklyn cares for patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, scheduling flexibility is important. This position may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Available schedules will be discussed during the interview process. What's Next?
