  • Range: $23.84 - $28.61 HourlyBilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred. Candidates that are able to start ASAP highly preferred. Medical Assistant back-office experience in Family Practice, Pediatrics, and/or OB/GYN preferred. JOB SUMMARY This position will assist medical providers in providing medical care to clinic patients under the direct supervision of the doctor or nurse. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Draw blood, give injections, administer skin tests, and obtain laboratory specimens. Prepare patients for doctor examinations. Set up necessary instruments. Take medical history and check vital signs. Schedule appointments. Update and maintain patient records. Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment. Knowledge of Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) guidelines, immunization schedules, and AAP periodicity table. High level of professionalism, patient service, and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar. Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards. Ability to build productive working relationships. Ability to work in culturally and racially diverse populations and in lower socio-economic conditions. Ability to pleasantly and effectively represent the organization. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience. Associate’s degree or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience preferred. 0 to 1 year of related experience. CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE / LANGUAGE Medical Assistant Certificate. Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. BLS/CPR certified. Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance. El Proyecto will reimburse employees for their mileage at the current rate set by the Internal Revenue Service. To receive mileage reimbursement, the employee must log their mileage and submit the mileage expense report to their Appropriate Administrator. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Walking, talking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 10 pounds; hand and wrist dexterity to utilize a computer. - AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION EMPLOYER -
