Routine laboratory methods and procedures including safety procedures for working with patients.
Standard laboratory phlebotomy procedures and equipment.
Laboratory Information Systems.
Draw blood from patients.
Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgement/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.
Learn elementary laboratory methods, procedures, and measurements.
Performs basic phlebotomy techniques on all age groups.
Keep accurate records.
Follow oral and written directions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
AGE-SPECIFIC COMPETENCY (If applicable)
Maintains, demonstrates and is assessed on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for physical, psychosocial and cultural needs appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
