The Utilization Review Coordinator performs admission and concurrent review of patients. Assures optimum quality of patient care in the most cost-effective manner. Works closely with the Physicians and the Social Services department to ensure quality of documentation of patient care. Completes Medicare B-Tag audits. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Psychosocial assessment of newly admitted patients Developing an update or detailed re-assessment of the patient High-social risk case finding Contact with family and others significant in the patient’s life Patient and family education Support and advocacy Coordination/liaison with community-based social and mental health agency(ies) regarding the pre-admission status of the patient Member of the treatment team in development of treatment planning and subsequent planned interventions.
