About the role

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in an operating room setting, addressing physical and psychosocial needs from infant to geriatric populations. They also coordinate with the surgical team, manage equipment readiness, and ensure safety standards are met during procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Quail Surgical and Pain Management Center in Reno, Nevada, is an outpatient surgical center dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Established by a group of community physicians, the goals of the founding physicians have not changed since they were established in 1999.
  • These goals focus on: Streamlining the delivery of medical care so it is patient-centered to provide the highest quality services.
  • Making the outpatient surgery experience less anxiety producing.
  • Utilizing the most cost-effective measures for the patient and the healthcare delivery system so we can provide safe and affordable quality care.
  • Providing an environment which is aesthetically pleasing for the patient, physician and employee that promotes patient friendliness.
  • Reducing the risk of infection for our patients by always adhering to the most current safety standards in the industry.
  • This OR RN opportunity is full time and offers a convenient day shift schedule.
  • This individual will provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations.
  • Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
  • Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition.
  • Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and pain management inventory.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Assesses operating room / procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
  • Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada.
  • Previous experience in an outpatient OR setting or in an acute care setting in the OR preferred .
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications. Previous experience in an outpatient or acute care operating room setting is preferred.
