About the role

The CNA provides direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and monitoring vital signs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They also support unit operations by maintaining records, transporting patients, and stocking supplies.

Job Requirements A Day in the Life of a CNA

Provides basic patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care within the scope of his/her training and experience.

Keeps record of care given.

Takes vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry) and performs adult bedside blood glucose monitoring when appropriate.

Turns and repositions patients to prevent breakdown of their skin.

Changes bed linens as necessary.

Transports patients and equipment as needed within the facility.

Monitors patients and reports any variances to the RN for further assessment.

Works collaboratively with the RN in charge to meet physicians, coworkers, management and other department’s needs.

Participates in bedside shift report.

Provides unit support as needed, which may include answering and relaying patient calls, accepting and relaying other communications, performing clerical tasks, completing and maintaining reports and records, or ordering/stocking supplies.

Desired Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to work independently with sound judgment and attention to detail Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to collaborate with others Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations Here is What You Need: Current Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license from the Wyoming State Board of Nursing 14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date Nice to Have: Prior acute care experience Six (6) or more months of experience as a CNA About Cheyenne Regional: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center was founded in 1867 as a tent hospital by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured while building the transcontinental railroad.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. Additionally, they are required to obtain AHA RQI certification within fourteen days of their start date.
