About the role

The Medical Assistant will document patient information, maintain patient flow, and prepare patients for visits. They will also perform clinical procedures such as EKG and PFT, collect specimens, and assist providers with examinations.

Our Family Practice Guilderland office is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join their team! This position is a 40 hour work week.

Responsibilities

Document verbal conversations and information into the patient records in an accurate, legible and timely manner.
Maintain timely patient flow.
Prepare patient for visit as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements.
Obtain specimens (i.e., urine, blood, etc.) from patients as directed by the provider.
Accurate and timely order entry into the lab system.
Perform clinical office procedures as directed by the provider (i.e. EKG, PFT, etc.).
Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.

Compensation

$17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.
Previous medical/clinical experience preferred.
Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred.
Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers.
Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
Experience with Allscripts is a plus!

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous medical or clinical experience, phlebotomy experience, and a Medical Assistant certification are preferred.
