Licenses and Certifications Physician Assistant (PA) - KSBHA Current licensure from Kansas Board of Nursing (APRN) or Kansas Board of Healing Arts (PA) Required or Nurse Practitioner - KSBN Current licensure from Kansas Board of Nursing (APRN) or Kansas Board of Healing Arts (PA) Required
What you will do Perform detailed preoperative assessments including history and physical exams.
Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, EKGs, imaging) as appropriate.
Identify and mitigate perioperative risks through evidence-based protocols.
Coordinate referrals and consultations with specialists when indicated.
Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure readiness for procedures.
Educate patients and families on surgical preparation, expectations, and discharge planning.
Document findings and care plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely and accurate manner.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization projects.
Support the development and implementation of standardized PAT protocols.
Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and ancillary staff within the PAT clinic.
